This three-day intensive has been designed for intermediate to advanced students looking to significantly elevate their drawing practice. Over the course of the intensive you will explore the language of representational drawing, learning how to prepare your own paper in the process of creating a resolved copy of an Old Master work.

We’re thrilled to welcome back tutor Troy Argyros during his temporary return to Melbourne from Florence, Italy. Troy is an academically trained artist with a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Graduate Diploma of Visual Arts Education from Monash University, and is currently undertaking training at The Florence Academy of Art. Troy’s classes are unique and thoughtful, and his patient teaching style ensures that you leave the studio feeling inspired with a range of traditional techniques and processes.

Please note that students will be required to supply or purchase their own basic drawing materials for the course, A3 Arches hot pressed 300GSM paper and a range of graphite pencils; these will be available for purchase from our art supply store on the first day of the intensive. Before confirming your booking, please read our terms and conditions thoroughly as we are unable to offer refunds, credits or transfers.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following measures have been implemented at the studio to ensure the health of all staff and students: class numbers have been reduced to half their normal capacity to allow students to physically distance 1.5 metres apart while in the studio, students will be required to sanitise their hands upon entering the studio, high touch surfaces such as door knobs and sinks will be sanitised after every class, and informative posters have been hung up in the studio’s bathrooms with reminders of effective hand-washing and germ-control methods.
