Ignacio Rojas will demonstrate the art of colour mixing by teaching the properties of oil paints, mediums and the various approaches to using them. This short introductory class will inform you about the safe and economic use relevant materials, the methodologies of application using a variety of brushes and technical properties of oil that consider drying times and surface stability. Following this informative demonstration each student will have an opportunity to mix a wide range of colours from a minimal source using a Zorn palette of red, yellow ochre, black and white – a relaxing and fulfilling process.
Ignacio was born in Chile, and migrated to Australia in 2001. With over 30 group and solo shows under his belt and a double degree in Fine Arts and Sociology, Ignacio’s chief artistic interests focus on Ala Prima (single attempt or wet on wet) painting.
