This workshop is perfect for the absolute beginner looking to give oil painting a try. The class will concentrate on classical drawing and oil painting exercises led by Ignacio Rojas, and will introduce a variety of concepts and techniques such as colour mixing and paint application as you’re guided step-by-step through the creation of a beautiful still life piece.
Ignacio Rojas was born in Chile, and migrated to Australia in 2001. With over 30 group and solo shows under his belt and a double degree in Fine Arts and Sociology, Ignacio’s chief artistic interests focus on Ala Prima (single attempt or wet on wet) painting. Ignacio’s passion for painting and teaching make his classes dynamic and productive, and you will leave the session armed with a range of new processes and techniques.
Basil oil painting materials will be supplied by the studio for this workshop. Before confirming your booking, please read our terms and conditions thoroughly as we are unable to offer refunds, credits or transfers.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following measures have been implemented at the studio to ensure the health of all staff and students: class numbers have been reduced to half their normal capacity to allow students to physically distance 1.5 metres apart while in the studio, students will be required to sanitise their hands upon entering the studio, high touch surfaces such as door knobs and sinks will be sanitised after every class, and informative posters have been hung up in the studio’s bathrooms with reminders of effective hand-washing and germ-control methods.
