Ignacio Rojas was born in Chile, and migrated to Australia in 2001. With over 30 group and solo shows under his belt and a double degree in Fine Arts and Sociology, Ignacio’s chief artistic interests focus on Ala Prima (single attempt or wet on wet) painting.
This course is suitable for students who are either completely new to art making and want to give it a try, or for students who have done some basic classes and wish to learn processes that will offer a range of data to improve their understanding and technique.
Each four week block of classes with explore a different area of beginner art over a cycle that will look at drawing approaches, the use of paint, colour mixing and application. Cycles will concentrate on a range of traditional subjects including still life, the human figure, landscapes and portraits.
Ignacio’s passion for painting and teaching make his classes dynamic and productive, and you will leave each session armed with a range of new processes and techniques.
Please note that students are required to bring or purchase their own materials for this course. Kits can be added to your enrolment booking, and picked up at the beginning of the first class. If you don’t require the full kit, individual items can be purchased in person at the studio.
