Based on the famous classical teaching teaching methodology of Charles Bargue (1827 – 1883), this course trains the eye to recognise and copy shapes which can be applied to the observation of nature.
Unlike contemporary drawing approaches that encourage gesture and self-expression, in this class we will concentrate on accuracy, solidity and finish.
Over the course of the 9 weeks, you will learn:
- Shape recognition
- Basic tonal perception
- Linear relationships
- Simplified expression of form
