This course is perfect for the absolute beginner looking to give art making a try. Each four week block of classes with concentrate on a different concept of art over a cycle that will look at drawing approaches, the use of paint, colour mixing and application, with cycles exploring a range of traditional subjects including still life, portraiture, the human figure, and landscapes.
Ignacio Rojas was born in Chile, and migrated to Australia in 2001. With over 30 group and solo shows under his belt and a double degree in Fine Arts and Sociology, Ignacio’s chief artistic interests focus on Ala Prima (single attempt or wet on wet) painting. Ignacio’s passion for painting and teaching make his classes dynamic and productive, and you will leave each session armed with a range of new processes and techniques.

Please have a read through the required materials list to determine whether you will need to purchase the full kit, priced with a 50% discount if purchased before the 31st December. The kit can be added to your booking via the link below, and picked up at the beginning of the first class. If you don’t require the full kit, individual items can can be purchased through our art supply store in the studio.
