Troy Argyros is a traditional realist painter inspired by the beauty of light and the methods of The Old Masters. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Graduate Diploma of Education from Monash University. In 2014 he was awarded a summer scholarship by The Florence Academy of Art in which he spent several weeks studying with master painters Maureen Hyde and Vitaliy Shtanko. This experience inspired his third and most recent solo exhibition in 2015, Fragments of Florence which showcased at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins Street. He has recently undertaken further study at The Julian Ashton Art School over the last two summers with Chris Browne. Troy’s work has been selected for a series of exhibitions throughout Australia including The EMSLA and The AME Bale Art Award, and also features in a number of private collections.
